Hello! Do you read a comic "Corto Maltese" by Hugo Pratt? What do you think about it?

:icongigicave:
off course i know Corto Maltese! Ugo Pratt is one of the most important italian autor in the comics universe!
He's a great master of storytelling and Corto Maltese is a great character. In France they are totally in love with it, they even made an animated movie some years ago.

Are you a fan too?

Yeah I'm a fan too. I saw Corto in the book about comics first time. And near the text about hugo pratt was a small picture of Corto. And I wonder how much of details and about character of Corto Maltese are in a small picture. I convinced that hugo pratt is a genius artist because, he can give in a small portrait of Corto a lot of emotions and information about personality. So I bought 'Una ballata del mare salto'. After I read that comic I can said, this comic is the best comic I ever read :) Perfect style and interesting story.

you're right! There's a lot of long and short adventures of Corto Maltese... "Una ballata del mare salato" is the first story of all.
I love Pratt's black and white images, but I think the best of his work as an artist is his water colour production! I'm sure you'll find a lot of those images in the internet...
And yet, Pratt is a great source of inspiration for oher great artists: belive it or not, Frank Miller used Pratt's style to develop his unique black & white art!

I've got a "Una ballata del mare salto" and "Favola di Venezzia" and I want to buy other comics.
I'll look for the water color pictures.
yeah I believe Hugo Pratt is a great inspiration... for me too :)
I saw some comic pages of Frank Miller and I'm going to buy Sin City. I love black & white style of drawing!
